One of the blogs that I really liked from Toroa Hub: Marshland School was Toroa making Manu Tukutuku (Maori kites) for Matariki. I like this blog post because they all worked as a team and they all built relationship during their creation of making a manu Tukutuku ( Maori kite).

Here is a screenshot of my comment:

When I was scrolling throw Rm 6'; Awahono Schools blog post I saw a really bright, awesome and creative art work that they created. The thing that caught my eye was all the positive and descriptive words and colours. I really enjoyed looking throw their blog and seeing all the learning that they have done throw out the term.

IALT: explain different kinds of year 7 & 8 methods

The method I am going to explain to you all is the LATTICE method.

You all might be wonder what a lattice method is, well I will explain.

Here is an question that I have to solve but using the lattice method.

First you need to draw a square

Then you need to make even lines

After you make 4 even lines you have too makes some more lines but on an angle

After you draw lines on an angle you have to write the question that you got on the side and bottom of the square.

When you finish numbering your square you have to times all the numbers together like this

Then when you are finished adding all the numbers together you have to add them on an angle like this

And then WALLA we got our answer to 14x24

Which is 336

Reflection Term 1 Week 2 2019

WALT: Do a reflection on what we did today in the Kia Manawanui syndicate.

1: Class Treaty!

On Thursday the 7th of February 2019 Kia Manawanui Syndicate did a class treaty.

First Miss Airen told us to go to each side of the class, she said that we could either go to the left side of the class or the right side of the class. After Miss Aireen told us to go on either sides, she casted on the TPS Tv,  to show us what groups we were in.

When everyone saw the groups that they were in Miss Aireen told the leaders of the groups to go get the papers and vivid. A few seconds later, We had to go to a table, but Miss Aireen picked the tables for us. When we got to our tables Miss Aireen explained to us what we were going to do.

After she explained to us what we were going to do,  we had to think of a positive word for our class treaty. Me and my group got online. So what me and my group had to write things that relate to being online, but we had to include the Tamaki Primary School values on our work paper.

This week I read a text called Kuri. A key Idea in this text is extinction. An example of extinction is when there is something that I no longer alive.  Natural resources are things that you can use around the world like: land, water, forest, fish and coals. Did you know that middens are very old rubbish, shells and bones.

What are Moa's? Moas are large flightless birds that are not living anymore.

Another key Idea is clothing.  An example of clothing is things that you are wearing now. People who were around Kuri's (dogs) ate them when they were hungry. If you are wondering how clothings are made? clothing are made from the kuris. People who were around kuris they shaved of the kuris fur to make blankets, clothings and others. People also use kuris(dogs) skin to make resources to.

My role model

Here is my DLO of who my role model is... For my role model I chose m mum. Read through my work and you will see why I chose my mum.

A role model who inspires me is my mum. She is caring and is also positive and she is a very sporty

My mum is a caring person who has been looking after me for 13 years. She shows love to
the family,  and she always has a growth mindset towards the pain that some of the kids give her.
An example of my mum being a caring person is the way she puts shelter over our head, food in
our stomach and something to keep us hydrated.
By being a caring person you have to be positive and always be someone who is happy.

My mum is a positive person who loves being happy. She supports us in a positive way, and she is never negative to people who me and my family is surrounded by. She can help you calm down and she can help solve bad problems that happen around you. An example of my mum being a positive person is the way she takes care of me, helps me and solves my problems that I have. By being a positive person you have to be happy, be respectful to people and things around you and never be negative to others.

My mum is a sporty person who loves playing sports. My mum has been playing sports ever since she was 12 years old. She wasn't in a sports team but she loved to go outside and play netball, basketball and other sports. An example of my mum playing sports is that she loves taking us out to enjoy the sun, she loves teaching us some new skills to sports that we have never played and when we go outside to play some rugby,  touch or other sports she always
show sportsmanship. By being a sporty person or someone who shows sportsmanship you have to
be positive, train if you want to become someone in a famous sports team, you have to practice and practice so one day you can become a professional like who you want to become.

If you want to become a role model you have to be positive, make others look up to you and show respect. If someone says that you are their role model they will follow the actions that you are making. For example, if you get into fights the people around mainly the little kids will think that fighting is good to do. But if you are a person who is positive and never gets into fights the little kids in their growing up life will become a role model to others because what the older kids lead them to which was to be positive and make good choices. If you make little kids make good choices you will become a role model just like my mum.
